THE ARTIST
Peter
Williams began his career as a restorer of Classical Art at the Museum
of Fine Arts Boston, and for over 30 years has owned a successful
painting restoration firm, Peter Williams/Museum Services, in Boston.
As a painter he is inspired by the early ships and coastal villages
of New England. His painting teachers include Robert Cormier, David
Curtis and Tom Ouellette. Mr. Williams has exhibited his paintings
at the St. Botolph Club and at the Vose Galleries in Boston during
the annual exhibitions of the works of Fenway Studios Artists. His
prints are available at the Essex Ship Building Museum in Essex, Mass,
and at his studio at Fenway Studios, Boston. A member of the North
Shore Arts Association, he is represented by the South Street Art
Gallery in Hingham, Mass. Mr. Williams grew up in Hingham, and has
sailing experience on tall ships including the barkentine Regina
Maris and also the Essex built schooners Adventure and
Ernestina.
